Void Marriages
A void marriage is one that is illegal under state law. There are only a few situations where the marriage is automatically void from the get-go. These include situations where the parties are closely related (such as brother and sister or first cousins of child-bearing age), where one spouse is already married to another person, where one of the spouses is not cannot marry, or where one spouse is too young to get married.
